What is Fridays For Future Movement About?

FFF, is a global movement that began in August 2018, when 15-year-old Greta Thunberg and other young activists began a school strike for climate. Every school day for three weeks, they sat outside the Swedish Parliament, demanding urgent action on the climate crisis. Her actions sparked an international awakening, with fellow students and activists uniting around the world to protest outside their local parliaments and city halls. Along with other groups across the world, Fridays for Future is part of a hopeful new wave of change. For more information visit our international website. In Miami we work with our cities, counties, other local governmental bodies and community to:

  1. Declare a Climate Emergency
  2. Act On It
Our vision is to:
  • Follow the Paris Agreement and the IPCC report
  • Stay below 1.5°C warming
  • Focus on the aspect of equity and climate justice, clearly stated through the Paris Agreement
  • Unite behind the science.
